L39NG Skyfox
On behalf of Euro Flight Test (EFT), I had the exciting opportunity to travel to Aero Vodochody in Prague, Czech Republic, to test fly the L39NG SkyFox—an advanced Lead-In Fighter Trainer. The objective was to familiarize myself with Aero's Flight Test Department and help standardize Flight Test Techniques in preparation for the final evaluation of the L39NG by an LFTE student from the WTD61 squadron of the German Armed Forces, as part of his coursework at EFT.
The flight test plan followed a systems familiarization course and ejection seat training on the Martin-Baker CZ16H. The test flight took place aboard SN7001, the first L39NG prototype, which was equipped with cutting-edge Flight Test Instrumentation. Throughout the program, we conducted high-performance maneuvers, spin entries, simulated weapon delivery, and refined basic Flight Test Techniques and pattern work.
By the end of the three-week program, we achieved our primary goal: the LFTE student successfully evaluated the L39NG as part of his coursework at Euro Flight Test, establishing a strong foundation for future collaboration.
It was an incredible experience—blending international teamwork with world-class flight testing, all made possible by the highly skilled flight test team at Aero Vodochody.
